22.11.2011 UN Global Compact Network Russia was promoted at the Global CSR Conference in Seoul, Republic of Korea

On November 22, the Global CSR Conference 2011 started in Seoul, Republic of Korea. About 500 participants met to exchange on the latest issues in corporate sustainability, share the best practices, and discuss methods to strengthen corporate competitiveness through enhanced communication with stakeholders.

The conference was attended by CSR leaders of Korea, Japan, China and other Asian countries as well as by UN Global Compact (GC) management, including Georg Kell, Executive Director of GC, leaders of different CSR organizations, in particular Ernst Ligteringen, GRI Chief Executive, academic community and specially invited international companies leading in CSR.

Andrei Galaev, CEO of Sakhalin Energy and Chairman of Steering Committee of UN Global Compact Network in Russia shared Sakhalin Energys experience in the sphere of corporate social responsibility and presented Russian Network, its vision, priorities and current activities.

"Our Network is a comparatively young organization but during the recent years we have gone a long way. Particularly this year we have taken major efforts to promote Global Compact principles and the best international practices in CSR implementation both in Russia and internationally" said Andrei Galaev during the plenary discussion of the Conference.
